A topic of great interest today is eyebrow tattooing. This term can refer to different forms of makeup, from the semi-permanent effect of micropigmentation to actual tattooing.
Regardless of the technique used and its characteristics, the possibility of waking up in the morning already wearing makeup is attracting more and more women.
What is meant by eyebrow tattooing
Eyebrows are a fundamental part of our body’s aesthetics. They form the basis of our gaze and are identifying features of a person.
Eyebrow tattooing is purely a female tattoo: it can compensate for natural hair thinning to achieve a natural effect or even a more intense one. It involves inserting permanent or semi-permanent colored pigments that reconstruct the aesthetics of the eyebrow by redrawing its shape.
Differences between permanent and semi-permanent makeup
An important distinction to make when talking about eyebrow tattooing is between permanent and semi-permanent makeup.
Permanent makeup involves inserting pigments that cannot be reabsorbed by the body into the deepest layers of the skin. This allows you to change your look with lines and shades that remain over time.
On the other hand, semi-permanent makeup has a limited duration, typically 12 to 18-24 months. It involves inserting pigments that are gradually reabsorbed by the body into the surface layers of the skin.
This allows you to achieve a temporary effect on the eyebrows, which must be repeated periodically through maintenance sessions. At the same time, however, if we are not happy with the result or change our mind after a while, we would feel more comfortable than with a permanent tattoo. In fact, after a few months, the effect of the semi-permanent treatment will fade anyway if not touched up.
Stages of eyebrow tattooing
The process of getting an eyebrow tattoo consists of several stages. Let’s look at the main ones:
- Definition of the result: using a pencil or a sterile instrument with tattoo colors, a design is drawn that will show the final effect achieved with makeup.
- Sterilization of the area: the area is cleaned and sterilized to prevent possible contamination during the procedure.
- Execution: using a special instrument, the operator begins with a rough sketch of the eyebrows, then continues with the details.
The individual technique and style vary depending on the operator and the desired effect.
End of the treatment: at this stage, you may notice some redness in the surrounding areas. This natural reaction tends to fade naturally within a few hours.
What to do after eyebrow tattooing
Taking care of your eyebrow tattoo is the first step to maintaining the results over time. This also involves small but important precautions:
- If possible, avoid direct exposure to sunlight for a certain period of time. If this is not possible, use a high sunscreen.
- For the days following the treatment, do not use cosmetics or other makeup on the treated area.
- Keep the skin moisturized using specific products recommended by the operator.
- Only remove the scabs a few days after treatment. To do this, it is best to use moistened cotton pads.
